Alaska’s Tony Knowles Coastal Trail October 30, 2014 Ted Palmer Share If you’re visiting Anchorage in your motorhome rental, be sure to check out the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Open all year round, the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is 11 miles of some of the most beautiful coastal scenes you will ever see. A great way to explore Anchorage, the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail is highly recommended by A&M RV Center, and here’s why: You can enjoy the trail in a number of ways: hike, run, bicycle, ski, or even rollerblade. From the trail you can see some pretty amazing sights, from downtown Anchorage and the fault line of the 1964 earthquake, to Mt. McKinley, and more. Many visitors to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail get to see some unique wildlife—perhaps a wandering moose in the forest or a beluga whale just off the coast. The trail is considered easy, so people of all ages and abilities should be able to enjoy the trail together. You begin the Tony Knowles Coastal trail in downtown Anchorage, on West 2nd Avenue near the train depot (for more details, see the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail website).
